Cory Janko’s story

I signed up in the Marine Corps in 1999, was in Okinawa when the Towers were hit, spent most of 2003 in Kuwait and Southern Iraq, I’ve been in the Reserves (due to several unfortunate circumstances) ever since. While I continue my pursuit to stay in the Corps and return not only to Active duty and several more deployments; i applaud this company for so boldly reminding the public of the sacrifices of men and women I have proudly served with! I have done what I can to educate and train other Marines prior to them deploying, staying in contact with their families for support while they are gone and “silent”, welcoming back those who return and grieving for those who don’t.
I request to all who read this, and the few who may share it, a favor:
-LISTEN to those who come back! Volumes have been spoken by the scarred and maimed without a verbal sound. We don’t expect anyone else to understand, just having someone listen… not trying to judge, rationalize, or preach , but simply listen and help pick us back up to our feet, can make THE difference! Thanks
